Fun-n-Games and Funny Stuff

Back in about 2005 (don't know exactly), I created a website that was going to include a bunch of links.  Well, I have done very little on that site and it's been a long time since I've done anything to it.  I thought it's about time to check it out and see which ones are still working today.  What I did is copied the HTML code from a web page, pasted and updated it on this blogpost.  Whenever I find out that a link is no longer available, it would get deleted.  I might copy at least one other page from that outdated website whenever I'm ready.  Meanwhile, you can check out these links:

April Snow 2011

We have heard that we may get about a half foot or almost a foot of snow. Well, in our area, it didn't turn out to be that much. Here's how it looked on the morning of April 1, 2011

That snow was gone by the afternoon.  And by April 2, 2011...

That's gotta be the end of this year's winter... for sure.

Snow in March of 2011

After entering my last blog, there were a few days of non-freezing cold weather followed by a day or two of freezing weather. Then the temperature went above freezing. Now, in March of 2011, we're getting a little snow. At least not as much as we did earlier this year.

Here are those taken on March 21st

And here are those taken on the morning of March 23rd

We had a little less snow on March 24th.

And by the afternoon of March 25th, we had even less.

Our Winter of 2011

It's been several months since I've made a blog entry. Well, since we were experiencing possibly the worst part of the year's winter, I thought I would take these pictures using my Kodak Zi8 in still picture mode. This post has the most pictures and text compared to my earlier ones. Note that this post was originally created on February 2nd. You'll see the info and pictures that were later on added.

Taken in the morning of January 24th. We were managing to put up with the freezing cold by using electric heaters. The furnace can heat water but not the whole house. It'll be fixed after winter. I don't think I've ever seen this thermostat read that low before.

The following pictures were taken on February 2nd

Looking out the kitchen widow. You can see some very long icicles hanging down.

Looking through the water closet window (that's what I deliberately call a modern bathroom (or outhouse) as in the Victorian era). As you can see, I've taken this picture vertically to get the whole window, as well as the very long icicles.

That Craftsman Snowblower always came in handy when dealing with a lot of snow. This year, we've been using it more than ever.

Some cars in the driveway cover with snow. The icy layer was rather easy to break apart by pounding fists and pushing it off the cars.

Looking out the front door and to the right.

Looking towards the back yard.

Here's a good view of the very long icicles at the back of the house.

Notice how foggy it was that day.

This is where we temporarily store some recyclable stuff. Here, the containers are hidden under the snow (and ice).

Here's that Craftsman Snowblower, again. That car you see was a pain to get it out of the icy part.

We had to dig the snow out of the bed.

The following pictures were taken on February 3rd

Whenever we go down to the garage, the temperature would be slightly below 40 degrees (Fahrenheit)

In the garage, it was cold enough for storing some foods and stuff we would normally store in the fridge.

This fridge needed to be repaired, which is why we stored the food downstairs. Here's one side of the fridge.

...and this is the freezer side.

This little one is working.

We can store certain things in there.

These were taken on February 15th (after the fridge got fixed and a few "warmer" days)

This was taken in my bedroom shortly after I got up for the morning. I was able to put up with temperatures that low (maybe even a few degrees lower) while sleeping overnight.

Taken downstairs on "ground level". That's a long shovel used for getting snow off the roof. I don't think we've used it this year.

Here's that kitchen window view again. By that time, the very long icicles were not there.

This is where we saw the very long icicles on Feb. 2nd. As you can see, it ain't there. But yet, it was below freezing on Feb. 15th.

I managed to walk on the ice while taking these pictures, not even slipping.

According to the weather forecast, after today (Feb. 15th), looks like spring may finally just begin.

Well, that's about it for these pictures. Thanx 4 chekin them out.

What Just Happened on Twitter

This series of "tweets" should give you an idea of what just happened today (April 21, 2010):
  • Now listening to one of my vinyl LP's: Gershon Kingsley's "Music to Moog By". Actually, it was recorded from vinyl as a sound file
  • BTW, "Music to Moog By" contains the original 1969 version of "Popcorn."
  • (After noticing wax_fm follwing me) Hmmm, I just happen to mention in my tweet about one of my vinyl LP's. And the next thing I noticed, YOU STARTING FOLLOWING ME! :-D
Here's a little wikipedia article about the album I was talking about:
